Challenge
Looking to enhance the performance of service provision whilst maintaining high levels of safety, Bristol Airport appointed NATS to provide its air traffic control services in October 2005.
Solution
The contract covers Tower and Approach air traffic control services and their associated engineering support services and maintenance. NATS was able to ensure a smooth transition of 41 ATC, engineering and support staff from Bristol Airport and supported this with a detailed action plan. Our depth of experience allowed us to add new dimensions to the airport's approach to safety; at the same time, we are well positioned to support the airport as it grows.
Result
NATS is currently successfully handling a 12% increase in traffic at Bristol as the airport pursues its strategy for growth.
Andrew Skipp, Managing Director of Bristol Airport said: "NATS has a proven track record and is influential at both a national and international level, which will be of great value in supporting Bristol International Airport's continued growth."
