NATS Launches Automated Briefing System

National Air Traffic Services (NATS), the UK's leading air navigation service provider, has launched FirstBrief, a revolutionary automated briefing product in partnership with Real Time Engineering Ltd (RTEL).

Developed for NATS by RTEL, FirstBrief ensures that air traffic controllers are aware of the latest changes in situation and procedure affecting the airspace under their control, while engineers are briefed on the most up-to-date status of the systems they manage.

FirstBrief replaces paper systems, providing guaranteed accuracy of vital information, with greater efficiency, and a detailed audit trail for management and regulatory requirements. The system uniquely allows a high degree of selectability, so users only see information relevant to them.

It is now fully operational across all NATS airports and air traffic control centres in the UK, and available to the international aviation marketplace for the first time at the 2005 Dubai International Airshow.

Whilst initially developed for aviation, FirstBrief can provide a unique and valuable resource in any industry where operational information must be distributed to staff in a controlled, guaranteed and verifiable way. Typical examples include emergency services, the transport and power industries, as well as airlines, aircraft maintenance and airport security.

FirstBrief can be seen in operation at NATS Stand W201e in the UK pavilion of the Dubai International Airshow. Real Time Engineering Ltd markets FirstBrief on behalf of NATS.
