NATS agrees to CAA charging proposals for 2006-10

NATS said today that it would not oppose, and has given consent as required by the Transport Act, to the Civil Aviation Authority's latest proposals to modify the price control conditions for the regulation of its en-route business for the next five years.

National Air Traffic Services (NATS) said today that it would not oppose, and has given consent as required by the Transport Act, to the Civil Aviation Authority's latest proposals to modify the price control conditions for the regulation of its en-route business for the next five years.

NATS had previously indicated that it would be prepared to accept the CAA's proposals subject to the resolution of a number of outstanding issues, which have now been addressed.

Paul Barron, Chief Executive of NATS, said: "I am pleased that we have been able to reach agreement. The regulator has set us some tough challenges for the next five years but we are confident that, with the continuing support of our employees and the Trade Unions, we will be able to rise to the challenge."
