There is currently no impact from volcanic ash on UK airspace.
24 May 2011 – 2100 UK time
Latest information from the Met Office shows that following the recent eruption of Grímsvötn in Iceland, no volcanic ash is currently predicted in airspace over the UK from 0100 UK time on Wednesday 25th May.
As the volcano continues to erupt, NATS will continue to monitor the latest Met Office information and further updates will be provided if and when the situation changes.
Because of recent disruption and the continued eruption of the volcano, passengers are advised to continue to check with their airline before travelling.
24 May 2011 – 1530 UK time
Latest information from the Met Office shows that following the recent eruption of Grímsvötn in Iceland, an area of volcanic ash is forecast to affect some parts of the UK between 1900 and 0100 UK time on Tuesday 24 May and Wednesday 25 May. Airports remain open, however some services may be affected from the following aerodromes including:
- Barra
- Glasgow
- Edinburgh
- Prestwick
- Newcastle
- Carlisle
- Durham Tees Valley
- Cumbernauld
- Tiree

Airports remain open, however some services may be affected from the following aerodromes including:
- Londonderry
- Glasgow
- Edinburgh
- Prestwick
- Newcastle
- Carlisle
- Durham Tees Valley
- Cumbernauld

Latest information from the Met Office shows that following the recent eruption of Grímsvötn in Iceland, an area of volcanic ash is forecast to affect some parts of Scotland between 0700 and 1300 UK time on Tuesday, 24 May. Airports in the UK remain open, however some services may be affected from Scottish aerodromes including:
- Aberdeen
- Inverness
- Benbecula
- Barra
- Tiree
Stornoway is available for arrivals from the north and departures to the north.

- Barra
- Benbecula
- Tiree
