Airspace procedures and design

Changes to airspace sectors, airport runways or aircraft take-off and approach routes require specialised analysis, modelling, design and consultation procedures. Increasingly, the environmental impacts of noise levels and fuel emissions need to be considered, in addition to safety and cost implications.

NATS, by virtue of the proximity of major airports in the London area, has managed some of the most challenging airspace in the world for longer than any other service provider in the world.

The experience NATS has amassed, and the tools and procedures it has developed, can be applied to any airspace planning requirement, no matter how large or small. Every airspace planning project is unique, and NATS will not only develop optimum solutions, but will do so in a way that provides the greatest possible cost-effective and environmental benefit.
