On the 30th of January it was announced that Supply Chain Management has achieved Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) certification.
The key benefits our suppliers will see as a result of our CIPS certification are:
NATS is becoming a more commercial organisation - SCM is now recognised as a key player in reducing NATS operating costs over the next few years. We encourage and promote suppliers who work with us to achieve these business goals and objectives.
Managing relationships with strategic suppliers involved in the NATS Investment programme - SCM now have a professional Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Relationship programme which enables us to build long term relationships and work together towards continuous performance improvement.
Reducing the time taken to implement new Air Traffic Management systems- SCM now has the necessary continuous improvement tools to work with key suppliers on reducing the supply chain cycle.
Chris Odam, Director Supply Chain Management:
"I am delighted that the NATS Supply Chain Management team have achieved CIPS Certification following a two year transformation programme. This success proves that we have raised our game not only from a professional viewpoint, but also in terms of efficiency and creating real value for NATS “
Paul Barron, Chief Executive:
"Three years ago, I recognised the need for change in the way we worked with external suppliers, particularly as we had already embarked on a £1 billion investment programme. The team responded to the challenge and today, we have a high performing Supply Chain Management function. A great deal has been achieved, evidenced by this CIPS award and this is a fantastic achievement for Chris and his team"
