Course Aims:
To provide Engineers with a knowledge and understanding of the Rohde & Schwarz Transmitter (SU 451B), Receiver (E 401B) and Aerial Facilities Ltd (AFL) 6 Way Combiner Cabinet, hence to acquire the Depth B level practical skills necessary to undertake Tx and Rx setting-up and line testing.
Course Description:
This Depth B course is for those engineering staff who have responsibilities for the installation or maintenance of this generation of radio equipment. It aims to provide them with an understanding of the operation of the various units, and to equip them with the practical skills necessary to set up, test and maintain the SU451 transmitter, the E401 receiver and the associated aerial combiners and isolators.
Training Objectives:
On completion of this module, and with the aid of relevant documentation, the student will be able to:
- Explain the setting-up of the Rohde & Schwarz Transmitter, measuring necessary parameters on the equipment.
- Explain the setting-up of the Rohde & Schwarz Receiver and measure necessary parameters on the equipment.
- Demonstrate, using the appropriate equipment, the setting-up of the AFL Combiner System including Cavities and Isolators.
- Use the Test Equipment necessary in order to set up and maintain the R&S and AFL equipments.
Course Pre-requisites:
RF Techniques Modules 1 & 2 (TTR No.225/1 & 225/2), OR a sound knowledge of all the areas outlined therein.
