Course Aims:
To provide Engineers with a knowledge and understanding of the PAE UHF Transmitter Type 54100M and the associated Battery Support Equipment, sufficient to allow them to maintain the equipment in operational service.
Course Description:
Trains Engineers in the operational principles and maintenance of this equipment.
Training Objectives:
On completion of the course, with the aid of the relevant documentation, the student will be able to:
- Identify the signal paths of Speech, PTT, Forward power and Reflected Power.
- Locate and identify all the PCBs of the 54100M Transmitter.
- Perform the setting up of the Transmitter, and measure necessary parameters on the equipment.
- Perform, using the appropriate equipment, the setting up of the cavities and line adjusters.
- Undertake tasks as defined in the current Maintenance Schedules on the Transmitter and Battery Support Equipment
- Identify and correct faults down to Line Replaceable Unit Level.
Course Pre-requisites:
A sound knowledge of Radio Principles.
