Course Aims:
To provide Air Traffic Engineers with a knowledge and understanding of the PAE UHF Transmitter type 1303 so as to enable their maintaining the equipment, to Depth B requirements, in operational service.
Course Description:
The course is aimed at the radio station keeper and engineers who have to set up the transmitters.
The 3-day course follows the paths of speech, forward power and reverse power. The practical aspect of the course covers one and a half days and includes the complete setting up, per the Maintenance Schedule, and fault-finding practice.
Training Objectives:
- On completion of the course, with the aid of the relevant documentation, the student will be able to:
- With the aid of the block diagram identify the signal paths of Speech, PTT, Forward power and Reflected Power.
- Locate and identify all the PCB's of the 1303 Tx.
- Explain the setting up of the Tx, and measuring necessary parameters on the equipment.
- Undertake all tasks as defined in the current Maintenance Schedule.
Course Pre-requisites:
Should either have taken courses AHPC2251, AHPF2253 and AHPF2254 or have a sound knowledge of all the areas outlined in those TTRs.
Students should have completed Electrostatic Precautions training (AHPF4020).
