Course Aims:
To introduce Engineers to Monopulse Secondary Surveillance Radar.
The course is designed to be a stand alone module of benefit to staff employed in a supervisory role or on related systems.
Course Description:
The aim of this course is to assist Engineers to obtain an appreciation of the complex signal processing environment into which the SSR fits.
Training Objectives:
- On completion of the course staff shall be able to:-
- Describe the current Monopulse SSR network and its function in the Authority's radar network.
- Describe the principles of MSSR. Explain the difference between MSSR and its predecessor SSR.
- Describe the concept of monopulse.
- Identify monopulse system components.
- Be aware of the site differences between single and dual sites.
- Describe the functional blocks of an interrogator.
- Describe the functional blocks of an extractor.
- Describe the processing functions of the SMPE.
- Describe how primary and secondary are integrated.
- Describe signal routing to an ATCC.
