To train Engineers to restore to operational service and maintain the equipment

This course is designed to train Engineers to maintain, set up and restore the 2020 DME operational service.

On completion of the course, with the aid of the relevant documentation, the student will be able to:

Describe the function and operation of the system and its monitoring in terms of signal and data flow and its interface with other systems
Identify system failure in an operational environment and take the necessary action to restore service
Use the built in test facilities to identify the status of the equipment and recognise abnormal indications
Diagnose faults to line replaceable unit (LRU) level and return the system to operational service
Carry out system setting up and alignment checks using the Lap Top PC, BITE and front Panel Controls and Indications as appropriate
Perform planned and corrective maintenance appropriate to depth B requirements
