Tactical Operational Management System (TOMS)
Air traffic controllers need a clear view of traffic levels in advance. Supervisors need to be able to predict air traffic levels and adjust sector staff levels accordingly in order to ensure aircraft safety and at the same time maximise resource utilisation.
NATS was one of the first ATC providers in the world to develop, trial and implement a complexity prediction tool. The result of this work, TOMS, is now in operational service at NATS Air Traffic Control Centres, enabling NATS to control some of the most challenging airspace in the world at an acceptable cost.
By integrating TOMS into their suite of operational applications, ANSPs can maintain the highest levels of aircraft safety, maximise airspace capacity and minimise resource costs. NATS expertise in systems integration and excellence in partnering will enable ANPS' to plan and manage the transition to a TOMS-based environment quickly and effectively.
