Delivering cost effective training solutions

TTS will assess training solutions available and recommend the most cost effective. This requires that an understanding of the overall engineering training picture is developed, enabling decisions about numbers, types of training required, and methods of delivery.

E-Learning

TTS is using more E-learning forms, from short descriptions on the NATS Intranet to full Computer Based Training. Currently, an in-house developed LMS is being used to host, deploy and record this type of training.

TTS also uses blended learning, a mixture of e-Learning, Classroom Training, Workshops and other styles to meet training requirements cost effectively.

FITS

Formal In-house Training, delivered by system experts. This differs from OJT in that the emphasis is on formal classroom and theory sessions. TTS can assist in designing FITS courses. FITS courses are registered with TTS and administered via the NATS Service Centre.

Classroom Training

TTS still provides traditional classroom based training, and continues to develop its portfolio of courses to cover new systems, processes and engineering techniques. We also deliver classroom training covering concepts, principles and practical applications.

Procurement of Courses

TTS can advise on technical training suppliers; delegates can then book public courses directly. TTS can also assist in the procurement of bespoke training, subsequently ensuring that the delivery meets requirements.

Training Consultancy

Using a broad base of experience TTS can assist in all aspects of training, including Training Needs Analysis, capturing training requirements and finding cost effective solutions.

TTS also draws on previous experience when procuring training, and is able to advise on how to get the right training in the right format at the right price, to support both initial and long term requirements.

On the Job Training

TTS delivers On-The-Job Instructor training as a first step to managing the transition from the training environment to the operational environment.
TTS can work with operational management to ensure that OJT and formal training are complementary. Within NATS, TTS has the remit to provide quality assurance on OJT via an audit process. Guidance for developing OJT material is available from TTS.
